Taryn was born in Athens, GA and moved to Atlanta in 1975, at the age of six when her father, Nick Chilivis, was appointed State Revenue Commissioner. She is a graduate of The Lovett School and of SMU in Dallas, TX where she studied business accounting and communications.

Taryn’s first job was in the Turner legal department helping plan for the 1990 Goodwill Games. She also helped run the low-first camera at the Braves games and acted as floor director for “Good News” at Turner Sports. Bowman’s career path has included working at the Babbitt & Reiman advertising agency, working at Dorsey-Alston as a real estate agent, teaching 1st grade in at Lovett, working as the youth director at the Pacific Palisades Community United Methodist Church in CA, acting in films such as “Kingpin” and “Me, Myself, and Irene” out of Los Angeles where she earned her Screen Actors Guild (SAG) membership, working for the Georgia Department of Labor in its Distance Learning Center producing training videos for the state, working in the production and locations departments on the TV show “Nash Bridges” in San Francisco during its final seasons, working in the production accounting department for several big budget films shot in Atlanta including “Drumline” and “We Are Marshall,” starting her own film production company, and writing a computer program specifically for Atlanta tax incentives, payroll, and set budgeting in the film industry. She also has her real estate broker’s license.

Taryn is a small business owner of Cast My Home, LLC where she acts as the liaison between the GA film industry and our neighborhood communities and homeowners. Her company protects homeowners and neighborhoods affected by the ever-growing film industry in Georgia while ensuring a good relationship with the incoming movie productions.

Taryn has always been heavily involved in public service. In 1990, she won an award at the Shepherd Spinal Center for the most volunteer hours and was asked to give a speech to the staff and patients. She served on her children’s public school PTA where she chaired the annual publication of the school’s art & literary magazine and implemented and ran the spirit club for the students to focus on student spirit, confidence, ownership, and leadership.

Taryn served on the Mt. Paran-Northside Citizens Association board for seven years where she accomplished much as president, membership chair, and website tech from raising $33,000 in private funds to purchase an official city police car for her community and pay the police $150,000 annually to keep her neighborhood safe.  She is currently serving on the boards of the Vinings Village Homeowner's Association, the association responsible for community security, and is president elect of the Vinings Village Historical Preservation Society, which raises funds to preserve the integrity of historical Vinings.  Taryn was on the board that opened the doors of a new state charter school that is in its second year and gives parents choice in education.  She also joined the Board of Equalization on her neighbors’ behalf to delve into relevant property tax issues and find solutions.  Taryn was also appointed and serves on the Fulton county sex trafficking task force created to tackle an issue that is plaguing metro Atlanta and its families.

Taryn is a member of the Church of the Apostles where she has attended church for the past 30+ years. She is married to Pete Bowman and has three children, Annabelle (16), Noelle (14), and Daley (13). She has two rescue dogs, Spirit and Ginger. She is also endorsed by the ultimate Dawgs, Vince and Barbara Dooley.
